TITLE: Accounting Intern

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide support of finance and accounting functions

INTERNSHIP DATES: April 15 – August 15, 2024 with a requirement to work the weekend of the Columbus Arts Festival (June 7-9, 2024)




 Accounts Payable and Payment Processing

  • Responsible for data entry of payables for all departments in QuickBooks and grants database
  • Run monthly grant reports from grants database and enter all grants awarded in QuickBooks
  • Record payment of all bills in QuickBooks, grants database, and street performer database


Month/Year End Duties and Reconciling

  • Reconcile grants in QuickBooks to external reporting



  • Enter/reconcile data in Blackbaud and excel, inform Festival Coordinator of missing information, including but not limited to:
  • Artist and food vendor certificate of insurance
  • Festival sponsor information
  • Food vendor payments
  • Set up and maintain iPads and cash bags for the festival
  • Assist beverage groups with iPads at the festival
  • Monitor volunteer groups online submission of beverage contracts, ensuring a tax letter and payment information is on file for each organization


Other accounting duties as assigned



  • Currently enrolled in college accounting courses with accounting declared as your major
  • Have completed an accounting class that covers GAAP, recording transactions, and preparing financial statements
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word


Schedule and Pay: 15-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule is available between 9 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday . Internship will start on April 15th and continue through August 15th with a requirement to work at the Columbus Arts Festival June 7 – 9th. Work hours will not follow a traditional 9 am – 5 pm during the arts festival weekend. Hourly pay rate is $13 per hour.


College Credit: May be eligible for college internship credit. Please let us know the requirements from your college to confirm.
