Future Ready Five (FR5) is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing children for success in kindergarten and beyond. We focus on providing essential early learning resources and support to underserved communities. Our goal is to create a solid foundation for lifelong learning and development.

The Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the visibility, engagement, and impact of FR5. This role will oversee all aspects of internal and external communications, including public relations, marketing, social media, content creation, and community engagement. The Communications Manager will ensure cohesive and effective messaging across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications:

  - Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to advance FR5’s mission and goals.

  - Oversee the creation and dissemination of consistent, high-quality messaging across all communication platforms, including creating talking points for staff and board members.

  - Ensure alignment of communication strategies with organizational objectives and target audiences.

Public Relations:

  - Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage for FR5’s programs, events, and initiatives.

  - Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.

  - Serve as a spokesperson for the organization and handle media inquiries.

Content Development:

  - Oversee the creation of engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, website, newsletters, print materials, and presentations by all staff.

  - Ensure all content reflects the organization’s brand voice and messaging guidelines.

  - Supervise the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to produce high-quality visual and written content.

Digital Marketing:

  - Lead the development and execution of digital marketing strategies to increase online presence and engagement.

  - Create, monitor, analyze, and share digital marketing metrics to inform strategy adjustments and improvements.

  - Oversee the management of the organization’s website, ensuring content is up-to-date and optimized for SEO.

Community Engagement:

  - Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, stakeholders, and supporters.

  - Coordinate community outreach efforts to promote the organization’s programs and services.

Crisis Communications:

  - Develop and implement crisis communication plans and strategies.

  - Manage communication during organizational crises, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.

- 4+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.

- Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills.

- Strong media relations and public speaking abilities.

- Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management, and content management systems.

- Strong skills in graphic design and video production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro) are a plus.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Passion for early childhood education and commitment to FR5’s mission.

 

Compensation:

 

- $60,000-75,000/annually

- Hybrid work schedule (M/F – remote; T/W/TH – in office)
