Health and Safety Manager

As the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager  for US, this role is responsible for facilitating all U.S. based site leaders in their responsibility for the implementation of Bleckmann’s Global H&S management systems in their site. And to periodically verify, and allocate any actions needed to ensure that U.S. Bleckmann operations comply with federal (OSHA, DOT/FMCSA) and state regulations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Global H&S Director who is based in Europe, and has to be comfortable with substantial autonomy.   

Key Responsibilities 

• Coordinate the actions needed to implement Bleckmann’s H&S standards in the U.S.  

• Facilitate compliance to applicable H&S regulations  

• Manage various H&S projects on country (U.S.) and global level as required  

• Lead the investigation of incidents and coordinate their follow-up  

• Facilitate the training necessary to ensure adequate knowledge of risks and controls.   

• Regularly inspect U.S. workplaces to ensure controls are implemented and effective.  

• Act as Bleckmann’s representative for all H&S matters in the U.S.  

Education 

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.  

Experience 

• Minimum 5-8 years of dedicated H&S experience 

• At least 2 years of managerial experience. 

• Proven background in warehousing or transportation.  

Certifications 

• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) 

• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
